Welcome to Pretty Girl Farm
Named for the pretty ponies, broodmares and grandchildren that comprise its heart, Pretty Girl Farm is nestled in a corner of Donegal Farm, one of Virginia's loveliest old plantations.
Trainer Diane Gibson uses basic round pen methods where horses are encouraged to view the trainer with respect as the "leader of the herd." Basic ground manners lead to trailering, under-saddle work, walking, trotting, cantering under saddle and trail riding.
Our breeding program was originally designed around crossing the Welsh stallion Rocky Creek's Frank Independence (owned by Jim and Nancy McDaniel of Donegal Farm) to our well-bred Polish Arabian mares. Through the years we have had the opportunity of crossing to fine Quarter Horse and Thoroughbred mares.
We are pleased to offer for sale a few of "Frankie's" foals. We occasionally have for sale horses belonging to our clients. We also lease trained ponies by the year or season for a nominal fee. See our Sales page for current pictures and prices.
